”Revelation” is a series of digital graphics employing unique author’s technique.
It is a visual narrative born from artist’s firsthand experiences and observations during the bloody conflict in Ukraine.
However, this exhibition is not only about the Ukrainian war. It exposes the horror of the very concept of war and calls for an end to all wars worldwide.
As a survivor and witness of the horrors of war, artist aim to sublimate these experiences onto canvas, using metaphors, allegories, and symbolism to express personal perspective and urge for peace.
Using mostly a monochrome, darkish palette, she adds to the drama and impact of her collages. In her multilayered images, she manages to render a visual atmosphere of representations that are somehow both essential and monumental. Against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the exhibition calls to pinpoint, one more time, the destructive nature and absurdity of modern warfare and the necessity of looking closely rather than looking away.
She believes that works will resonate with those who possess the emotional maturity to grasp the underlying meanings and appreciate the beauty amidst the chaos.
What sets of project apart is its authenticity – rooted in artist’s lived experiences and conveyed through her distinct artistic style. Each piece is a testament to resilience, inviting viewers to contemplate the human cost of conflict and advocate for change. It is important to note that all profits from the sale of the artwork will go to charity and aid for victims of war violence.
The series began to be created in 2023 during a residence at the Saastamoinen foundation in Helsinki and has been exhibited 8 times in international group and solo exhibitions, including the 60th Biennale di Venezia. Venice, Italy, 2024 in Palazzo Pisani-Revedin.
